If your child has lost or damaged a textbook, he/she is required to pay the full amount within ten days of notice. In the event that the assessed amount is not received or the lost textbook is not returned within the ten days, then your child’s right to free textbooks from the district will be forfeited; meaning that your child will only be allowed to use textbooks in the classroom during the school day, and will not be allowed to take home any school-issued textbooks. In addition, your child’s records will not be clear until such time as all outstanding fees, fines, or replacement costs have been paid.
(If a missing book that has been paid for is found and returned to the school before the end-of-year accounting deadline, the money will be refunded.)
